Chinoiserie ScriptTypography
Something West, something East. Chinoiserie Script celebrates the expressive beauty of Sinosphere calligraphy and combines it with the Roman alphabet to create a unique display typeface. Inspired by watching my grandfather write calligraphy, I drafted this font with a brush instead of the typical chisel tip pen used for Western scripts. It’s a fresh, positive reclaiming of “wonton fonts” which have long been used for racial mimicry and caricature.
