Dead Lines

TEAM: Me
ROLE: UX Designer
TOOLS: Figma
Dead Lines is a prototype for an app where Grateful Dead fans (Deadheads) can share their thoughts and memories associated with each song. I created it for a UX/Web Design class at UCLA, taught by Professor Masato Nakada.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The assignment was to design an app around the need of a subculture, so I picked Deadheads because they have such a strong and dedicated community that’s lasted for decades. As the fanbase and the band ages, I wanted a way for older fans to share their memories of old concerts with newer fans since seeing live performances is such a big part of the subculture. I was inspired by YouTube comments sections, where people tell their life stories prompted by a single insightful song lyric.

INSPIRATION POSTERS
I created an image-based and type-based poster, so I could have a visual language to draw upon when I started designing the actual app.
