Wild by Cheryl Strayed book cover*Concept book cover
“Wild” by Cheryl Strayed is a memoir of the author’s backpacking quest on the Pacific Crest Trail. I’m from Seattle, Washington, so the book’s descriptions of Pacific Northwest nature sounded just like home. To create the typography for “WILD,” I arranged and photographed moss and lichen in my neighborhood. The moss and lichen represent rebirth, which alludes to the theme of death and emotional growth in the book.
